Sundays

Sundays are such wonderful days.

Today, I bent down to meet my Father. He met me at the gate and led me to His side. He showed me a world of beauty. A world of peace and love. A world where we can all really be free.

I believe I saw Heaven today.

I did not sing with the choir today. The music minister simply would not budge when I told him I would leave if he did not cut the Latin out. I won't sing with them for a while. He will want me back next week.

Love,

Ashleigh

  1. Yes, isn't the Sabbath the most wonderful of days? In my family, we spend the day in prayer, meditation, and Bible study. We don't go to church as I'm still trying to find a church that is suitable for my family and does not have any bad influences for my little ones. And good for you for sticking to your guts! Do NOT sing the Latin! It's a foul language, corrupted by the pagan Church, and true Christians should only speak English!

    1. What about the Christians who live in other, non-English speaking countries? Do they need to learn English? Or are they not really Christians? If they're not really Christians and cannot be since they don't know English, why bother sending missionaries into the field? You people make Jesus sad. He taught "Love thy neighbor". and "Judge not, lest ye be judged."

    2. Dear Valerie, of course non-native English speakers can be Christians. But the King James Bible is written in English, so everyone needs to know at least enough English for that! And Latin, in particular, should not be used as it's a corrupt language to go along with the corrupt church.

    3. The King James Bible is NOT the ONLY version of the Bible, nor is it the "most holy" version. King James I of ENGLAND felt that ALL of the people in his country should be able to read the bible for themselves, and commissioned the bible to be translated into English for his ENGLISH-SPEAKING countrymen who lived in ENGLAND. The reason for the words "thee" "thou" "hast", etc. is because that was the way people actually spoke back then. It is the vernacular of Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, Queen Elizabeth I, etc. If you were such "A Biblical Woman", you would know your biblical history.

Also, I said "non-English speaking countries", NOT countries where they speak English. If a missionary goes to Kenya, where they speak Swahili, are the natives supposed to learn English? NO! The Bible has been translated into Swahili so the natives can read it in their native language, just like King James I of England did.

Also, how can a language be corrupt? A language is neutral. Some of the people who speak a language may be corrupt, but that's not the fault of the language. SMH at stupidity.

  2. Actually, your choir director is probably glad to get rid of you so easily. You sound like one of those people who THINKS they are so good so they try to sing above everyone else in a "look at me!", narcissistic way rather than blending in for an harmonious, pleasant sound. That's what a choir is for. But hey. Now you can do your solos outside and away from people so you don't assail their ears. Only now the poor little animals will suffer.

  3. I always bend over for a nickel too. As the saying goes "bending over for a nickel is just as good as working for a dollar."

  4. He will talk to you not cause he needs you, not cause he thinks he did something wrong but probably cause he will think it is the Christian thing to do. He thinks you are vain, and narrow-minded, and probably he prays for you , as you guys say.

Anyway, today I woke up on the couch. I was studying Ethnography of Africa. How the West, imposed this view the female circumcision is an awful thing to do to women, saying they are fighting for the women's rights, when in fact, many if not most African women consider it an honor, a symbol of their womanhood. I fell asleep watching HBO, and while sleeping the channel played a horror movie, which gave me vivid and dark dreams. I don't like horror movies. My parents went out on lunch so they celebrate with friends their retirement. My sister came in to drop off some treats for my dog, and 2 other, strays that hang around. All dogs were so happy. I found happiness in theirs. A friend asked to borrow my car . I don't drive. The tire got flat. My dad still doesn't know that, and the stress is giving me a headache. Went to my sister's house, she is 42, lives with her boyfriend. they had salmon, and all kinds of deliciousness. ..She did my nails, a coral color, and gave me a massage. I returned the favor minus the nails. I did have a moment, asking God if he knew I loved him, and thanked him ,for everything, told him i know the love.. I would never admit this, people would think I am ... naive at least. Or unstable. I also told him - you know I cannot stand the hypocrites , religious zealots, that made the whole thing a farce, and a tragedy. I was reading a lot about religions this past few weeks, and almost every time most people make a mess out of it. God isn't petty. I was thinking - at this point, I would like to find a wonderful, kind man to kiss with. And flirt with. And him playing me his favourite music , as a gift, and me reassuring him life is good. I will.

  6. Conceited much? Don't assume that just because you think you are the best that everyone agrees with you

  7. The lord will send you many blessings for standing strong. My kids saw Sophia Vergara Pepsi commercial inside the Walmart electronics department. I had to shield my poor babies eyes from such an immodest woman. A Walmart employee saw my distress and asked if everything was ok. I asked him why Walmart now puts porn stars on their TV screens. He had the nerve to reply "Oh, you mean Sophia Vergara. She's not a porn star she's an actress." Lies just lies. Our family is now shunning Latin America and the language of Latin.

  8. Bless you for standing strong? What? Shunning Latin America and the language of Latin? That's the most unChrist like thing I have ever heard. For one, scripture was written in Greek and Hebrew then translated to English. One can gain a wealth of knowledge by translating scripture back to its original language, as the English version was translated by a handful of scholars in the 1600's. King James had just been crowned King, and the Puritans were delighted since he accepted Calvinistic and Presbyterian theology. It was printed by the King's printer, Robert Barker...hence the name. Educating yourself would make you less stupid.
Moreover, this King James Bible that you seem to cling so tightly to, commands us to go into ALL the world. Not to shun a country because of one person. Jesus himself met with the shunned....he felt grace should be extended to all...not a select few. It just floors me how people can call themselves a Christian and spew such garbage. Sad, terribly sad.

  9. I'm so confused by this blog, I never know what to take as humor and what to take as serious. You do know they don't speak Latin in Latin America, right? Other than those who speak their native languages the majority of Latin America speaks the Spanish language. Latin is considered a dying language and is generally not spoken outside of scholars or Catholic and some Anglican clergy.
