Nataleigh's birthday

Natty's birthday is coming up. She will turn 9. I can't decide what to get her! She is so interested in photography, maybe a camera? Maybe one of those old fashioned ones with film and everything. When she is older, if she keeps up with it I can buy her a digital or something. She also loves animals. Maybe a puppy? Oh my goodness, I can't decide!

Do any of you have any ideas?

Both ideas are good. In that photo of a cat, I wondered if that's your cat. Do you have any pets? Do you think she'd be responsible enough to take care of a cat or dog? You say she's a good learner; I wonder if there's any videos on YouTube that can help her. Cesar Milan the dog whisperer I think has some videos; check them out. Unless there are some classes you can enroll her and her puppy in, so they can learn together and meet other kids with puppies.
If you're getting her a camera, you might as well give her a small digital. Then you can let her have her own blog, so we all can talk to her too. Won't that be great?

    1. I am not sure that it is a good idea to allow my daughter internet access, let alone her own blog. I do not think that would be a good idea at all. She may get a digital when she has proven she is capable of caring properly for a film camera.

  2. Good luck finding a camera nowdays that takes film. But my goodness, she's only FOUR years away from a forced marriage and her first kid! Buy her what she can still use in a few years.

    1. WalMart carries film cameras. She is not to marry for SEVEN more years.

  3. Remember a digital camera is less expensive. I am curious, how do you know she will even like the person you have arranged for her to marry?

    1. Because he lives in our back yard and they get along famously!

  4. You should get her something to help prepare and train her for her responsibilities in life and to God. Maybe a book of religious songs for children? Or a cookbook? Or maybe one of the Duggar girls' book Growing Up Duggar?

She is of the age to learn more about managing a household I think.

    1. Lovely! I think I will call Jill later today and request a copy of Growing Up Duggar.

    2. I don't think those Duggars give away anything for free. Jim Bob is a penny pincher.

    3. Yes... he does have a tendency to be a bit of a scrooge.

    4. Let us know how that goes, ok? I wonder if JimBob is therefore disappointed that you've already chosen a husband for Nataleigh, so he can't offer her Jackson? Well, maybe Jackson would work for Kayleigh or Baileigh. Better make sure he doesn't see this post, ok? No one likes to be called a scrooge
